Yipee......we're in Texas!

After spending the night in Forrest City, Arkansas and traveling to Oklahoma City to pick up the trailer, we are finally in Texas.  Yipee!

Joan in Oklahoma

Pretty good day in the truck....I ended up playing finger puppets a lot (in an effort to minimize the DS obsession that my child is showing!)

We left the hotel at around 8:20am....and it's a good thing that we did not leave a minute later.  Rick thought that we had until 5pm to pick up the trailer.  His cell phone rang at 1:30pm, and it was the RV rental company informing us that they close at 3pm on Saturdays!  Yikes!  That could have really thrown a wrench into the ol' travel plans.  We rolled into the rental place at 2:40pm!

Joan in front of "home" for the next 5 weeks!

We had a little bit of a scare today.  We were driving down the road and a really load and long beep started sounding in the car.  We frantically looked at all the gizmos that we had plugged in (GPS, IPhone, IPod)....trying to figure out where the noise was coming from.  Then after about 10 seconds of this loud beeping noise, a voice comes over the CB radio (yes, we have one of those too!) with a weather alert.  Rick bought a CB radio just for that purpose, since there have been so many bad storms out here.  Anyway....good to know that it works (even if it almost gave all of us a heart attack!)

We crossed the border into Texas shortly after dinner.

I had so much fun! It is really hot here.

Finally found a resting place at a WalMart in Hillsboro, TX at about 9pm.

Our posh spot for the night!
