We spent a fairly low key day here in Santa Fe.
After breakfast, we went to the International Folk Art Museum. Joan really enjoyed seeing all the miniature dolls, toys, and textiles from various countries.
After the museum, Joan and Rick dropped me off on Canyon Road. Rick thought I could use a day off, so I spent the afternoon walking around Santa Fe. I browsed in several galleries and shops, but I really did not have any huge desire to shop. It was a beautiful day, so it was just nice to be out and about in this wonderful city.
While Bronwyn was in town, Joan and I (Rick) went shopping for hiking boots for Joan. Hiking in sneakers in the sandy desert has been a problem for Joan because her shoes seem to keep filling with sand and small stones, of which there seems to be an abundance in the southwest. Hopefully, hiking boots will work better. Of course, Joan is not happy that her new hiking boots are brown rather than one of her favorite colors. She grilled the salesperson about whether there were any hiking boots that were pink, purple, orange, or anything other than brown. Fortunately, the salesman backed me up that she was going to have to get brown hiking boots. After a little bit of miscellaneous shopping for supplies, Joan and I returned to the trailer to have lunch and play until it was time to pick up Bronwyn.
Joan and Rick picked me up at 4pm, and after grocery shopping and washing the truck (desperately needed after yesterday's off-road excursion), we returned to our campsite to get dinner started.
Another family had arrived at the campground, and they have a daughter who is 7 too! What luck! Joan and Delaney became fast friends, rode bikes, played with the walkie talkies, and played frisbee. What a treat for all of us!
