A relaxing albeit brief visit to see family in Cincinnati

This morning, there was business to be done.  On my list......buy goetta and get some good Cincinnati ice cream!  Joan had a different agenda.....go swimming!  That's okay....we were able to accomplish both, so everyone was happy!

We went to see some of my niece Sadie's artwork that is displayed in a local coffee shop.  She is so talented, and it is so cool to see her work on display for others to see and appreciate.  From there, we were on to Aglamesis for what I consider to be one of the best places to grab a milk shake in the entire world!  First of all, this is one of the last remaining ice cream parlors in the country.  I figured Joan would love the fact that he decor is predominantly pink!

As a kid, I loved that fact that, not only did I get a tall glass with my milkshake, but they also brought me the metal container that the shake was made in......and there was still a lot of milkshake in there!  Also, they always served the shake with a couple of butter cookies.  Perfect!  Well, my memory did not fail me....it was just as I remembered it.  I only had two regrets......that I split my milkshake with Rick.....and that Joan does not have the sweet tooth that I have.  She was not into her chocolate milkshake as much as I thought she would be.....and poor Chris had to help her out!

By the time we got back to the house, we were all really hot.  On our adventure, we noticed the humidity once we crossed into Missouri....and Cincinnati is no exception.  Fortunately, we were able to cool off in their pool

, and Joan and I had a lot of fun playing volleyball with Uncle Chis and Aunt Jeanne.

After a nice dinner, we called it a night, as we knew we were going to leave in the morning to make our way to Lancaster, OH to visit  Phil and Kim (my brother and his wife).

In the a.m., I made a mad dash to the store to pick up some goetta.  The trip would have been a complete failure if I did not complete this mission!  With a couple pounds in the cooler, we were good to go!
