Today was our big rest day in the trip and the northwestern limit of our travel. It also felt like the beginning of the end of the trip. From this point forward, it feels like we are headed home.
Last night we were welcomed into the home of my (Rick's) cousin Heather and her husband Joe in Pocatello. We all enjoyed sleeping in regular beds and we all slept late (especially Will). Joan particularly enjoyed getting to spend a day with her second cousin Ali (same age) and her slightly older second cousin Andrew.
In addition to running lots of errands and washing clothes, we found time to catch up with our Pocatello family, to take a hike around Scout Mountain, and to have a spare rib feast at the home of my (Rick's) Aunt Diana and Uncle Bob, with the help of grill master - cousin Jim McLaughlin. One of the highlights of the visit for Joan was getting to see her Great Uncle Bob's train layout complete with scantily clad sunbathers and other interesting scenes.
